Makeup Artist Creates Incredibly Dark Characters

Joyce Spakman, aka Candy Makeup Artist, is a professional makeup artist from the Netherlands, who started experimenting with makeup at a tender age of 14. She attended a 3-year theatre makeup course in Amsterdam and while studying, she started working on her handmade headdresses from cheap materials.

Today, she works as a freelance makeup artist, actively involved in various events and festivals. She also organizes master classes and workshops in her country. She loves creating the whole character, from styling to makeup, though these kinds of projects could take up to 2 months to complete.

Most of her designs are dark characters, created entirely from scratch. These are also available in her Etsy shop. Check out her amazing and unique creations below.

The medusa aftermovie Sorry guys for my lack of posting! Haven't got a lot of inspiration the last few weeks, but there are some cool things coming up. For now; a sneak peek of the medusa aftermovie I made as a project a few years ago with @lauramarijn . The whole version of the aftermovie is on youtube. Just search 'laura marijn medusa'. Hate that instagram don't let me post any links, or the full video. Laura and me made the background together. I made the headdress, the corset and did the make-up.
