Maryana Kopylova is a young Ukrainian artist who creates strange but charming miniatures she calls “Zyabras”. According to the artist, Zyabras are lively and emotional creatures that came to Earth to bring light and chose her as a mediator.
“Zyabras are fantastic space creatures who live on Earth to help nature and all living beings. I’ve been creating this fantasy world for many years with great love,” wrote the artist on Bored Panda.
“Each Zyabra has its own mission: one keeps peace in the forest, another sings lullabies to birds, the third one grazes snails in the meadow,” she shared.
In order to create these unusual toys, Kopylova uses polymer clay and later decorates them with paper-mache, acrylic paints, glass, and stones. Kopylova lives in Kharkov, Ukraine, having graduated from the Kharkov Pedagogical University, majoring in fine arts and advertising design.
