Rescue Dog Learns How to Ice Skate

When retired ice skating coach Cheryl Del Sangro rescued a six-month-old Labrador named Benny from a local shelter back in 2014, she couldn’t have imagined that this puppy will become one of her greatest coaching successes.

After Del Sangro decided to terminate her retirement last year and get back on the ice, Benny decided to follow.

“He followed me around and was running after me on the ice,” Del Sangro told SWNS. “He was rolling around on his back and everything – he enjoyed it so much.”

This is when Cheryl decided to help Benny learn how to skate. She created special ice skates for the dog, and he was able to maintain his balance on ice quickly after that while mastering turns and crossovers.

“You can’t keep him off the ice,” Benny’s owner added. “He just keeps getting better and better.”

As he gets more skilled, Del Sangro is hoping to teach the dog some new tricks on the ice and teach him to do routines with music and would like for Benny to perform in shows as well. In the meantime, check out this adorable doggo rocking on ice in the video below.
