Sad Animal Facts is an Instagram page that features illustrated animals captioned with sad facts about them, researched and created by Brooke Barker.
For Brooke, it takes a lot of work to create her illustrations. First she has to find the facts, for which she browses National Geographic and scientific papers in the library. Then she comes home and starts investigating what specific animals look like, especially if she’s not so familiar with them.
“Some animals are a little easier for me to draw, especially cats and raccoons, and some are a little trickier, sloths, anteaters, anything I haven’t seen a lot,” Brooke laughs.
Sometimes she illustrates them by hand and sometimes she uses the computer, but the end result is always adorable. Scroll down to see her work!
