The Largest Bird Sculpture In The World Created In India

India is famous for so many things – from beautiful history and culture to extraordinary cuisine – but now tourists have one more reason to visit this amazing country. A mind-blowing statue of an eagle inspired by an old myth was placed in the south of India, and it is the largest bird sculpture in the world.

The creator of this impressive statue is the famous Indian filmmaker and sculptor Rajiv Anchal. He designed this 200 feet long and 70 feet high piece in college and it took him six years to finish the construction. The concrete structure is called Jatayu Earth’s Center and is located in the heart of Kerala in south India.

According to Hindu legend, this eagle lost his life trying to save princess Sita who was kidnapped by the demon king Ravana.

“Jatayu died protecting a woman’s honor and that is what the sculpture stands for”, explained Anchal, “People of all faiths have invested in the project and people of all faiths will be coming to see it. My work is for all of them”.
