These Two Cats Tried to Get Into a Museum for Two Years

Two devoted art lovers have spent the past two years trying to get into the Hiroshima Onomichi City Museum of Art in western Japan, but they have been consistently turned away at the door by a security guard.

The attempts were started by Ken-chan, a black cat, in summer 2016 during an exhibition of cat photography, but was politely stopped just as he was entering the Museum. A couple of months later, Ken-chan returned, but this time he brought a ginger friend, Gosaku. Together, the duo continued their attempts, but without any success.

They become internet celebrities, and the museum, which has more than 47k followers on Twitter, recently launched a range of merch featuring Ken-chan and Gosaku.
