Bridget Beth Collins, better known as Flora Forager, describes herself as a botanical artist, writer, painter, nature lover, and light seeker. She uses flowers and botanicals to create charming, nature-inspired illustrations. Every leaf, petal, stone, and twig is hand-foraged by Collins while strolling around her local neighborhood or during her travels into the wild landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
Each part is then arranged creatively on a white paper and immediately photographed to capture the beautiful masterpiece.
“I began foraging for flora during a hard time in my life,” Collins told My Modern Met. “Searching for flowers was like a balm for my heart. I loved bringing them home and discovering what animals or scenes they reminded me of.” Each colorful image is cleverly composed, revealing the surprising usefulness of the natural materials. “It was like a secret to unlock,” she continued, “Eventually I shared them with others, as a reminder that beauty and magic is hidden in unlikely places, just within our grasp, if we would only seek it out.”
