Written and directed by Eva Cvijanovićm, based on a story by former Yugoslav children’s writer and poet Branko Ćopić, Hedgehog’s Home is an adorable tale about one brave hedgehog who’s not afraid to go against many forest beasts in an attempt to defeat his home.
The story is timeless and comforting, but the artwork is what truly makes this short film special. It was done with the needle felting technique and won several awards, including the Best Film Award at the KIKI International Film Festival for Kids (2017), Honorable Mention at the Ottawa International Animation Festival (2017), and Best Children’s Film at the GLAS Animation Festival (2018).
