The super blue blood moon is a very rare thing and over half the planet had a chance to see it on January 31. It happens when a few astronomical phenomena happen at the same time – supermoon, when the moon is closest to Earth, blue moon, which is the second full moon in one month, and a blood moon, a total lunar eclipse.
Last time it happened was 150 years ago, but the next time will be on Jan. 31, 2037. In the meantime, here are some photos of it.
Don't panic: the moon isn't getting closer! We just thought this morning's #SuperBlueBloodMoon was a good chance to have a little fun with a double-exposure. pic.twitter.com/gtHcMhKRWV
