Artist Combines Drawings and Photographs and it Messes with Our Minds

In the summer of 2014, Italian artist Pietro Cataudella started a project called CityLiveSketch in a small fishing village in south-eastern Sicily.

He simply created a sketch of the “Balata di Marzamemi” and photographed it in front of the scene that was presented. During his travels, Pietro captures his adventures through photographs and combined them with his drawings, creating amazing 3D artworks of famous places.

Through the years, his sketches evolved into more complex drawings that blend various art techniques that usually confuse our minds. His constant experiments with new forms of art and desire to create more creative content have led to the materialization of a new category of his project, “Fantasy,” in which the “design interacts (or even melts) with photography,” according to his website.
