Artist Creates Intriguing Handwritten Typography Posters of Pop-Culture Characters

We are accustomed to people using the written word to create art, but the way Mike Matola does it is really impressive. This artist uses creates typography posters of actors, musicians, and other pop-culture figures by handwriting entire movie scripts or song lyrics to “paint a picture.”

For example, Matola created Freddy Mercury’s poster with the help of song lyrics from the Queen’s Best Of album while he depicted Buttercup and Westley with the lines from The Princess Bride script.

His artworks require lots of time and patience to complete, with each piece requiring up to 80 hours of work to be finished.
