Artist Uses Recycling Materials to Create Steampunk Animal Sculptures

We all know how important recycling is. But instead of putting trash in the Recycling bin, artist Barbara Franc uses recycled and discarded materials and transforms them into a piece of unique art.

The London-based artist has always been inspired by the animal kingdom, more specifically by the shape and sculptural forms of animals. To create the 3D masterpieces, she uses wire and other materials, which eases her process and allows her to add changes whenever she feels they are needed.

“I increasingly use recycled and discarded materials as I enjoy the challenge of transforming something with a past history into something new and exciting,” she wrote on her website and added that her steampunk sculptures are, mostly, done to private commissions.

Sculptures of birds, dogs, cats, zebras, and horses are just some of the art pieces Franc has showcased in her Instagram gallery. In one of her posts, she also mentions that her Bisto the Badger sculpture was seen by Queen guitarist Brian May himself.
