From A to Z: This Typography Artist Kills It!

We admit we have a soft spot for typography. Our latest crush? Letterer Lauren Hom. Her Instagram page is all the letter-inspiration we need and crave. From cards to murals, Hom’s skill shines bright.

So much so that she’s attracted clients like Starbucks, Google, AT&T, YouTube, TIME Magazine, and Microsoft, amongst others.

“I find that I’m happiest when creating; so, when I’m not working, you can find me—HAHA just kidding when am I not kind of working on something?” she admits on her website.

But not all letters are equal to this keen letterer. “My least favorite letter to draw is probably K,” she told Dumb Questions. “I’ve been lettering for four years and they still bamboozle me all the time. I don’t know if I have disdain for any other letter form in that same way. K’s can suck it.”

I know this may seem daunting (I recommend writing out at 30+ things), but the point is to get as much out in this brain dump as possible: everything you care about, have a curiosity for, enjoy doing, dream about, etc. 📝 Your creative voice is hidden in here somewhere, and I like when I can see everything all on one page. What’s your super secret shame snack? 🥜🍞🍌🍓🧀 You know, the one that tastes like magic to you but makes your friends uncomfortable to hear about? 😅 It’s the 15th week of #HOMwork (omg I’ve actually kept it up), and this week’s prompt is to design a piece about your gross guilty pleasure snack. ~~~~~ Mine is a classic PB&J sandwich…with banana and cheese 😬 I grew up snacking on them, and they just kind of stuck with me into adulthood.
