No cat owner would ever dare to say he/she doesn’t love their cat (or cats) more than anything. But truth be told, the reality isn’t always so cute and cuddly, and Vernessa Himmler proves the myth wrong with her hilarious series of cat comics.
The young illustrator and sand-artist, based in Hamburg, Germany, has been drawing her entire life and she even got a Master’s Degree in illustration, as well.
Vernessa started drawing her cat-comics two years ago, and the inspiration to her illustrations were her two white cats Mikosch and Koschka, both adopted from a local animal shelter. She began sharing her crazy cat lady lifestyle on her Instagram profile and always repeating one thing: “You don’t own your cat; your cat owns you!”
