Japanese Artist Lets Nature Color Her Drawings

Talented Japanese artist Kotetsu has a really interesting way of coloring her drawing. By combining her drawing skills, photography and the Japanese art of paper cutting known as kirie, she lets nature take care of it.

Kotetsu’s artworks start when she sketches a model on a piece of paper and then carefully cuts out the model’s clothing out of the picture. She then holds a paper in front of a field of flowers, autumn leaves or other nature’s scenery, which fill in the blanks in the drawing.
