Instagram is home to many illustrators who found viral success after deciding to use their relatable art to tell it like it is. Kat Schneider is one of them and her increasingly earnest comics will inspire you to take an honest look at yourself and the world around you.
Schneider got her fine arts degree at Rutgers University in New Jersey and went on to find success as a freelance illustrator. She forged her own path in this competitive industry and attracted over 60,000 followers to her Instagram page, in addition to working with such high-profile publications as The Washington Post and The New York Times.
Schneider’s comics became a huge hit online thanks to their honest and relatable nature. She describes her comics as “increasingly earnest” since they focus on the little joys and annoyances of daily life we’ve all faced at some point.
After finding success with her comics on social media, Schneider is finally working on her very first graphic novel. It will be titled I’d Like You to Like Me and center on “a 15-year-old Meg during two weeks at a Pentecostal sleepaway camp in the Adirondacks, where first love challenges Meg’s faith and view of the world forever.”
