Take a Look at This Beach That is Covered In Popcorn

There isn’t a single person in this world who doesn’t like the beach. Sand or pebble, it doesn’t matter. Beaches are synonym for relaxation, sunbathing and long summer days full of fun activities.

But can you imagine spending your summer vacation on a beach covered in popcorn? Well, you don’t have to imagine this, as you can travel to Canary Islands and see for yourself.

In the town of Corralejo in Fuerteventura there’s a beach called Popcorn Beach or Popcorn Bay that is taking over Instagram because of its beauty. What’s unique about this beach is that you can see what looks like pieces of popcorn on the surface. These are actually miniature white corals that got washed to the shore. The irregular shape of the movie snack-like corals is from the sea and friction and once they got mixed with volcanic ash and sand – the illusion was created.

Despite the fact that this phenomenon isn’t new, it’s seems like Instagram community has only now discovered the beauty of it. Take a look at some the photos.
