This Instagrammer Makes Us Long for California Summer

“I wish they all could be California girls,” sing the Beach Boys longingly. And with autumn in full gear, we can’t but fantasize about a Californian summer, Beach Boys style.

Travel writer and San Francisco gal, Kelly Lack, has an Instagram to match our mood. “I love an adventure,” she admitted in an interview with Lonny, “I get bored when standing still. I also love how [traveling] smashes the pre-conceived notions you have about the world, even when you don’t realize you have them! We’re all human, trying to get by and struggling with and finding joy in the same things—only in different settings.”

Her travel are documented in writing and photos, beautifully curated and shared on Instagram for our enjoyment. “When I’m traveling, I go nuts trying to capture it all from sweeping scenic shots to quiet moments in markets to the comings and goings of locals,” she shared.

Lack’s content has also appeared in publications like Martha Stewart Weddings, Travel + Leisure, and AFAR, with clients that include brands like Zappos, Conde Nast Traveler, and One Kings Lane.

If you’re one of the lucky ones who get a chance to visit San Francisco, pin Lack’s piece for Harper’s BAZAAR, where she shares 88 things to do and see in San Francisco. Until we meet again, next summer…
