Mike Dargas has recently become famous for the hyper-realistic paintings he posts on Instagram. Before that, he was a pretty successful tattoo artist. Thanks to social media, Dargas’ work went viral and he’s now an established name in the art community.
Dargas’ pieces sell for over $30,000. Who’s buying them? Celebrities! Boris Becker, Domenico Dolce, and Stefano Gabanna are just some of the people who own his artwork.
The 35-year-old artist is working and living between Los Angeles and his native Cologne. He’s inspired by artists like Salvador Dali, Caravaggio, and HR Giger, whom he discovered when he was little thanks to his mother.
