Oscar Performer’s Announcement Makes the Internet Very Happy

The Academy of Motion Pictures announced on Monday that Queen and Adam Lambert, will be performing at the 91st Annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, on Feb. 24.

“Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? We welcome @QueenWillRock and @adamlambert to this year’s #Oscars,” the Academy tweeted.

The official Queen account shared the excitement on social media. “Queen + @adamlambert will ROCK YOU!”

Lambert  also posted the news on his Twitter account, writing, “We will rock The Oscars  😏Feb 24th. 5pm PST. @TheAcademy @QueenWillRock.”

“Bohemian Rhapsody,” the film that tells the story of Queen’s legendary frontman Freddie Mercury, got five Oscar nods this year, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Rami Malek, who portrayed Mercury.

The band will join a line-up of prominent performers such as Bette Midler, who will sing the Mary Poppins Returns track, “The Place Where Lost Things Go,” which is nominated for Best Song, Jennifer Hudson, who will sing her Oscar-nominated song, “I’ll Fight,” and Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will perform “Shallow” from A Star Is Born movie.
