This Tiny Dog’s Job is to Make Sick Kids Feel Better

We all know the old saying, “good things come in small packages” – and there’s no better proof to it than Norbert.

Norbert is a tiny dog with a huge heart. He’s only 7 inches tall and weighs about 3lbs. Back in 2004, Julie Steines adopted him through PetFider.com. He was just a tiny pup in need of a special home that will know how to care for such a small animal.

Luckily for him, Julie was the right kind of mom. They clicked right away, and Julie soon realized Norbert, named after a dragon from Harry Potter, was a special dog. She noticed how effortlessly he made people happy. Norbert began training to become a registered therapy dog, and today he visits children at hospitals and brings smiles to their faces.

He also inspired Julie to pursue her lifelong dream of writing a children’s book, and soon she sat down to write his story. Today Norbert is the hero of two children’s books and even has his own photo book.

But Norbert doesn’t let the fame get to his head. He’s still the lovely little doggy that likes to make people smile and give high fives. You go, Norbert!
