Artist Creates Amazing Flower-Boosted Portraits

Tawny Chatmon is an artist from Maryland who takes portraits and plays with them digitally to achieve these amazing pieces. Her work is rarely done when the portrait is printed; she will often add gold details or paint over the print.

“My camera remains my primary tool of communication, while my constant exploration of diverse ways of expression moves me to add several different layers using a variety of mediums,” Chatmon says, “After a portrait session is complete, I typically digitally manipulate my portraits and unite them with other photographic components to achieve a work that is a new expression—often lending to them the eyes of someone their elder and wiser, and almost always exaggerating their hair.”

#30daysofmoreismore. I unfortunately fell off my last 3 days and truthfully I'm surprised I even completed this challenge at all. The past few weeks I've been in and out of my dr's office(s) with one issue after another 😫nothing too serious but definitely kept me from working (all is well by the way). Thank you everyone that participated! Not Buried, Planted open edition and limited edition 16×20 prints are also now available on Saatchi Art and will be on my website this week! (Link to site on profile, link to prints on saatchi art page on website). Don't worry, these prints I'm touching with my bare hands are my own personal prints. I'm going to skip a month before I begin another challenge but I'd love to hear challenge ideas! #tawnychatmon
