Brick Artist Creates Amazing Sculptures From LEGO

Even if you’re fond of art and galleries, you’ll appreciate Nathan Sawaya’s creations. At least the kid in you will!

Sawaya is an ex-lawyer who “took the leap of faith” and became an artist. More specifically, a brick artist. Yes, that’s correct. Sawaya found an incredibly smart way to use LEGO bricks to create breath-taking sculptures.

“I like using LEGO bricks because they let me create anything I can imagine. They are a great medium for art because I can use them to build countless ideas,” the artist explained in an interview with Nuvo website.

So far, this talented man has created many original artworks, but he also recreated some famous works of art like Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night” or Michelangelo’s “David”. His exhibition “The Art of the Brick” is rated as one of the must-see events and is perfect for both kids and adults.

“As an artist, I want to elevate this simple childhood toy to a place it has never been before: into the fine art galleries and museums. I appreciate the cleanliness of the LEGO brick. The right angles. The distinct lines. As so often in life, it is a matter of perspective.“
