Dezeen and MINI Living invited anyone aged 18 or over, to design an urban home for 100 years in the future.

The Future Urban Home Competition is a collaboration between Dezeen and MINI Living discovering ideas that could form our cities over the next century. It invites readers to explore how life in cities will change in years to come and how this will influence the design of new homes.

Mini Living project aims to convert the creative use of space into real architectural solutions that combine the brand’s design knowledge with the spirit of experience and fun under the maxim: “big life, small footprint.”

They are looking for conceptual designs that respond to this maxim and suggest innovative solutions that make the most of available space. They are also asking participants to think of other challenges that could face life in the cities over the next century and how their urban home design will respond creatively to these issues as well.

The competition is open to all professional designers, studios, non-designers, students, and teams. The best designs will be published on Dezeen, with £10,000 prize money for the top 3 designs: £5,000 for the winner, £3,000 for the 2nd place and £2,000 for 3rd runner-up.

The winners will be chosen by a jury composed of Dezeen editor-in-chief  Marcus Fairs and editorial director Amy Frearson, together with MINI Living creative lead Oke Hauser and designer Corinna Natter.
