Painter Expresses a Romantic Perception of the World

Aibek Begalin is a 65-year-old artist from Kazakhstan, painter and graphic designer who had exhibitions all over the world. From his hometown Astana to Moscow, Cairo, Brussels, and all the way to Germany and Zhangzhou, China – he really did exhibit everywhere.

The artist now lives and works in Los Angeles, California and during his career, he created several cycles of paintings such as Apocalypse which includes 30 finely detailed paintings Time and My Kazakhstan. He also illustrated a novel called The Scaffold written by Ch. Aitmatov and stories such as Early Cranes and Spotted Dog Running on Seashore.

According to his personal website, “through the use of fantastic realism and neomodernism, the artist expresses a romantic perception of the world.”

Begalin’s paintings are also presented in museums and in private collections as well; in the Vatican, Japan, USA, Germany, France, Kazakhstan, Israel, England, Italy, Russia, Cuba, and others.
