The worst thing about pizza is waiting for it. Whether you’re in the queue or at home, the wait can seem interminable as your stomach rumbles and you dream of the deliciousness that’s about to be.
Well, the wait might become a thing of the past, at least for some. French company Ekim wants to change the way pizza is made and served by using a robot. The robot has been designed with three arms so that it can make several pizzas at the same time.
It has also been programmed to mimic the movements of human pizzaiolos or pizza-makers.
A human pizza-maker can only make 40 pizzas per hour, but the pizza robot can deliver one pizza every 30 seconds. But, according to some, the robot won’t be able to imitate a human in every way.
If something is wrong with the dough, for example, the robot won’t know, but a human would. That said, the invention is certainly a great start. Maybe one day, in our fast-paced lives, you will get pizza in 30 seconds at a pizzeria near you. Until then, be patient and take it one slice at a time.
