This Artist Paints In His Sleep, Although He Can’t Do Art When Awake

We shared numerous interesting and unique stories with you over the years, but the one about Lee Hadwin is really special. See, Hadwin is able to create amazing art when asleep, but as soon as he wakes up, he has no creative talent.

According to Hadwin, this strange occurrence started when he was a child. He would get up at night, take his pencils or crayons and started drawing on the walls of his room. However, he couldn’t remember anything in the morning.

This continued happening through the years, and the pieces that Hadwin created in his sleep eventually got much better. At first, he would draw and paint on everything he could get his hands on, including clothes, walls, newspapers, but he started becoming more prepared over the years, planting sketchbooks and art material all over his place.

Hadwin doesn’t have control over these episodes and reveals that he can sometimes create several pieces in a week, but also that there were times when he hadn’t had an episode for a couple of months.

Another interesting thing, however, is that he never showed interest in becoming an artist in his youth and that he isn’t all that skillful with brushes when he is awake.

“I had never wanted to be an artist,” -Hadwin admits. “I was never into art, into school. My highest grade was a D.”
