Stranger things’ star David Harbour served as a guest host on Saturday Night Live and gave the audience some hilarious moments. One of the most memorable of them was the take the show took on the recent Tod Philips’ hit Joker.

“From the studio that brought you ‘Joker’ and the twisted minds at Sesame Workshop comes the next gritty antihero origin story,” says the voiceover at the beginning of the mock trailer. Grouch is the origin story of the infamous Sesame Street character Oscar and his rise to power over the gritty dark place that is Sesame Street.

“If everyone calls you trash, if everyone treats you like trash, why don’t you just become trash?” contemplates Oscar while we watch him turn from a garbageman to the garbage dwelling being we all know. Along the way, we meet the other residents of the street, including his partner Grover, Guy Smiley, a news reporter for ABCDEFG News, Elmo who is being arrested for selling crack, Bert and Arnie who face a mugger and defend a rubber duckie, the Count who counts pills and Cookie Monster, who begs for cookies on the street.
