Cynthia Bennett and her boyfriend love hiking, but they realized it’s more fun when you have company. And not just any company!
They adopted their dog Henry in 2014. They initially wanted a golden retriever, but Henry stole their hearts at an adoption event. He was just a 14-week old puppy back then, but five times the size of other puppies. They bonded immediately and the connection still lasts. Henry is a perfect companion on their adventures.
As Bennett told The Dodo, “I think we only had him for three days when we took him on our first hike. He found the steepest, tallest rock around, and he ran up to the top of it to look over the edge.” That’s how he got the nickname “little mountain goat”.
A few months ago, this little family got another member. A rescue kitten Baloo entered their lives in big style, and what’s even better, he and Henry became the best pals.
Baloo really loves the family trips, though many people find it weird that a cat enjoys such activities. “I get a lot of questions about how we got him used to it. But he really loves it. He really wants to go outside. If I touch Henry’s leash, [Baloo] will start screaming at the door,” Bennet explained.
