Couple Adopted a Mini-Pig, But Then it Grew to be 650 Lbs

Have you heard about an Insta-famous pig who has her own fan club, a kitchen, and a store? Her name is Esther or Esther the Wonder Pig, as she’s named on Instagram.

Steve Jenkins and Derek Walter from Canada adopted Esther in August 2012, thinking she was a pygmy piglet. Two years later it turned out their mini-pig is actually a full-size commercial pig. Instead of 70lbs, as she was promised to wind up weighing, Esther is 650lbs right now.

The first person who suspected that Esther was a regular full-size pig was their vet. However, by the time they realized what was happening, Steve and Derek were already in love with their super cute pet.

“She was incredible from the day we brought her home, super clever,” Jenkins told to The Washington Post. “We’d see intelligence in her we didn’t even see in our dogs.”

The only thing the couple could do at this point is to make room in their home, and lives for Esther and continue caring for her. It seems like a smart decision considering how happy they all look together.
